Every BYD Atto 2 is under $75,000: full FBT exemption on a novated lease committed to by 31 March 2029, under the Treasury draft.
What to know about the BYD Atto 2
At $31,990 for the Dynamic and $35,990 for the Premium before on-road costs, the Atto 2 is one of the cheapest ways into an electric novated lease, and that small price shapes everything about the deal.
Under the statutory formula the taxable value the exemption wipes out is a fifth of the car's value each year, so on a car this size the yearly saving is roughly half what the same salary earns on a sixty-thousand-dollar SUV. Establishment fees, monthly management fees and the residual owed at the end therefore weigh more heavily here than on dearer cars.
Both versions use a 51.13 kWh battery and BYD quotes the same 345 km for each, so the extra spend on the Premium buys equipment rather than distance. The Atto 2 has outsold BYD's other small cars this year.
